I've spent a few hours trying to get The Sims 3 to run on my iMac (Late 2013). I've finally got it working. Here's how (in case anyone needs it).

(Note: My Sims 3 copy is through Origin / digital download - fix should also work for CD version as well)

Step 1: Install the base game only

Step 2: Download Super Patch

https://bluebellflora.com/sims-3-manual-super-patch-for-mac-1-67/

Step 3: Patch base game - Navigate to your Applications/The Sims 3/ folder and patch the root game

Step 4: Right click The Sims 3 application (Green plumbob icon) and select "Show Package Contents"

Step 5: Navigate to Contents\Resources\transgaming\c_drive\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Packs\TS3

Step 6: Right click on paul.dll within TS3 folder and move to trash

Step 7: Move one folder up and navigate to TS3EP03

Step 8: Copy paul.dll from this folder and paste it into TS3 folder

Step 9 (Optional for Expansion packs / Stuff Packs): Install all expansion / stuff packs in reverse order. Note: Late Night currently does not work.

Now your copy of The Sims 3 will run on Mac OS Mojave (10.14.6)
