wabuf
I use an Audio Technica cardoid-condenser, USB vocal microphone (overhead). A little overkill, but it's for recording vocals, guitar and junk for music production purposes. It was around $300 at the time, but I'm sure it's around $100 by now and comes with a cool little desk tripod! I also just use Bose ear-canal mini headphones so I get zero feedback. I've had this setup for ages, so it definitely stands the test of time and is much better than beefy gaming-headphone alternatives. Total cost today (for both pieces): ~$180. BTW: If you do choose headsets, go with Sennheiser or Bose. Turtle Beach = overpriced, low-fi junk (sorry Zoa).
Shaw_ShankD
I use Turtle Beaches! They are the P11's and only cost me $60 the main reason I got them was to use them on my PS3 but I use them for Skype as well. The thing is if you were to get them I would recommend trying to see if you can get a warranty with the warranty they cost $80 but I've already gone through a few pairs and it was never my fault it would just be something like the sound going in them. If you do consider getting them I strongly recommend a warranty or just not bother with them at all. Hope this helps (somehow)
Zoa
lol no offense taken wabuf, i agree they are over priced. the current ones i use to record my voice are not mine. they are actually a broken set my friend lent me (they work, but the earcups are held on by duct tape, and dont properly sit on my head, so they sit on the desk)
Canga
As for now I use a 35$ lame Logitech recording device (Logitech will never fail you) however I do have the Triton AX PRO 720s I believe. They have surround sound perfect for Xbox and such. It also comes with an amp which can change all sorts of things. So if you are an xbox/Ps3 gamer I would suggest this mic mainly because of its functions I haven't tried it for PC yet because I need to use a USB cord I've seemed to lost. So basically this mic is an all around deal for 130$ so make sure you check out Tritons. to summarize this all up Tritons are cheap Astros nuff said. I will try to change my logitech mic because it picks up loads of sound I honestly don't know how I missed the UHS. time really flies...
