Canga
So, I've been using Sony Vegas Pro, but Its frequent screw ups make me think It's not worth my time. I was wondering if there is a simple video editor you use and would like to share about. I don't own a mac so iMovie is unavailable All I want in a video editor are little things like smooth transitions, easy audio placement, good looking banners, and speed ups (in case my video is boring). I don't fancy a super editor that can add crazy effects. I really wish to have a simple editor that is quick. Thank you ps. any suggestion helps! wabuf
Mmmmm, the Garage Band of video editors: iMovie... xD Premiere Pro from Adobe is the way to go. Adobe Media Encoder to help you along with renders, also. Premiere Pro makes it super easy to make simple cuts, drag-n-drop transitions (and a/v), and more advanced stuff like chroma keying and configurable image stabilization/tracking. Any program is only as hard as you make it. Most interfaces are configurable, so if there's a pane with too advanced of stuff for you, just remove it! People often equate Premiere Pro's level of difficulty to After Effects, which is simply not a good comparison. After Effects if for just that; raw video clips you temporarily import into After Effects from Premiere to do advanced effects or combine with 3D graphics or something of that nature. But then it's immediately back to Premiere Pro to do the final editing and render queue settings. I can make a quick private video of me doing a few cuts and simple edits in Premiere if you'd like. Only 2 important keyboard shortcuts, so not too difficult.
Mythil
Awww yeah Premier Pro. *High five* I should get back into video editing...
Canga
I've never heard of premiere pro. I thought Adobe After Effects was the only video editor Adobe had. Wow that's pretty awesome. I'm a huge fan of photoshop and the Adobe products so it should be a fun experience! I'm making a video of a zombie vs villager invasion. I'm adding sound effects to make it exciting to watch. Just simple ones like "FIRST BLOOD" Spoilers: The villagers win, the zombies became so attracted to the doors that they basically stopped attacking the villagers. The objective will be "10 kills vs clock" I'll post the video when I finish editing it. Thanks!
Zoa
Yeah i find that premiere pro is pretty good. I used Vegas for a while, then learned about Premier . I've never used After Effects, even though i've had it forever... i just dont do anything too serious with video editing to need it :\
Canga
So I finally got adobe working and everything perfect. The 1st few seconds of starting the program I got lost completely. There was insane amount of options for things I've never heard about! A really short and raw video would be super neato Wabuf. I can return the favor by creating awesome videos for the chunk! All I really want to know is what presets are optimal for minecraft videos. and those 2 short cuts you've mentioned. Don't bother editing the video you make because it would just be too much work. This just looks awesome is general. Thanks!
Zoa
what i do: new project > display format: timecode display format: milliseconds capture format: HDV choose save location and name press OK i use DVCPROHD > 1080p > DVCPROHD 1080p24 (this is for 1920 x 1080 resolution @24 fps) drag ALL clips and files into the are that has "sequence 01" (it's in the top left for me) then you can drag clips into the timeline, and then use "C" to use the slice tool (cuts clips into pieces) and then use "V" to use the arrow tool, which allows you to drag things around in the timeline. thats just a small rundown of what i do, without making a video showing you. maybe wabuf will make one, or you can find one on youtubes

wabuf
Here's one, lol: Pretty much Zoa got it, but there are a few other keyboard shortcuts I didn't even know I knew. Those and more are explained in the video. Sorry it's so long... didn't do everything in the best order.
Canga
Woah! that's great. I don't care if it's long but, as long as it has the correct things it's really helpful. A billion thanks
Canga
SO! I have finally gotten enough time to rewatch Wabuf's tutorial whilst creating my own video. The video is still uploading through youtube so be patient! It is my 1st edited youtube video and it's nothing fancy! So don't flip a table when you don't like something! I put quite a bit of funny bits into my video and, I had a blast making it. FUTURE LINK HERE ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
